Awarded Elementary Music Educator of The Year for 2013 by Hillsborough County School District, Jeff Henson is a certified K-12 music educator who teaches elementary music in Tampa, Florida and has been a public school music educator since 1998. He holds a B.A. degree in music from the University of South Florida and a Masters level certification in Orff-Schulwerk under the instruction of Jane Frazee. Jeff is an active member of the American Orff-Sculwerk Association (AOSA) and The Greater Tampa Bay Area Orff Chapter. He has been five-time director of the Honors Orff Ensemble for the Hillsborough County Elementary Fine Arts Festival and has also served as guest conductor for the honors Orff ensembles and choirs in Pasco County, Florida. Mr. Henson has presented sessions for NAfME/FMEA State conference and has delivered workshops on elementary music strategies for Radford University. In 2015, he was awarded the Governor's "Shine" Award for Inspirational Teaching. Mr. Henson also conducts workshops on the use of Orff instruments in the music classroom, is a professional percussionist and freelance performer, and composes original works for Orff ensembles and arranges folk/pop/jazz music for Orff instruments.
